WEST PALM BEACH — As part of Global Entrepreneurship Week, Ideabar — a marketing consultancy of The Palm Beach Post — hosted Crowdfunding & Cocktails on Wednesday at the Lake Pavilion in West Palm Beach. The event brought together more than 80 local business leaders in support of emerging business.
Attendees purchased $100 tickets, then received their ticket amount back in “funny money” to donate to the startup or startups — a total of five were invited to participate — of their choice, during a live round of crowdfunding.
Ideabar raised more than $8,000 in cash for the startups, and donated close to $6,000 in marketing services. The biggest winner of the evening was Dr. Nicole Kirchhoff, who received $3,400 cash and $3,380 in Ideabar services for her new business, Live Advantage Bait.
Kirchhoff, who holds a Ph.D in aquatic animal health, will provide aquacultured marine baitfish to Florida bait-and-tackle shops starting in the spring.
